BORN TO SHINE
THE MODERN WOMAN’S GUIDE TO A HAPPIER LIFE
In my first book, Born to Shine, I share my journey of transformation—a journey that began in my mid-thirties when I became a mother. Like many women, I once dreamed of marriage, babies, and a picture-perfect life in London. But after the birth of my son in 2012, I felt an overwhelming sense of unraveling, a feeling that intensified with the birth of my daughter two years later. Beneath my attempts at maternal perfection, behind every organic muffin I baked, and beyond the image of domestic bliss I was striving to portray, there were unhealed emotional wounds, buried for years, that were threatening to break through.
My journey has shown me that many women are called to heal their emotional wounds before having children, and for some, that calling may arrive in the form of a struggle with infertility. I believe the infertility journey can be a powerful invitation to address and resolve these deep-seated issues. By embracing this opportunity, women can not only prepare themselves emotionally for motherhood but also reconnect with a truer, healthier version of themselves.
The turning point for me came when my husband began working with a life coach, uncovering childhood wounds that were holding him back. His courage to seek support led me to do the same, diving into therapy to understand the roots of my own struggles as a wife and mother. Over time, I realised that my suffering stemmed from beliefs I had formed as a child—beliefs that many women carry, often without even realizing it. And I saw how these buried beliefs manifest in the body, sometimes even contributing to physical conditions like endometriosis, anxiety, depression, and infertility.
MY Mission
Now, as a trained clinical hypnotherapist and women’s mentor, I help women reconnect with their inner power and guide them in shedding the societal and inherited expectations that weigh us down. Through psychotherapy techniques, I assist my clients in releasing pent-up anger and in healing the emotional wounds stored deep in the body, especially in the womb. I introduce them to the power of aligning with menstrual, lunar, and planetary cycles, helping them reconnect with their own rhythms and return to themselves as a healthier and happier self.
Through Born to Shine, I share the lessons I’ve learned on this path:
• How emotional wounds can trace back generations, affecting our beliefs and behaviors.
• Why the unhealed parts of ourselves influence not only us but also our children.
• How understanding and working through these wounds can empower us as women, not just as mothers.
• Why seeking professional support can be essential for all women, whether or not they’re on the path to motherhood.
The experience of what many call a “breakdown” is, in fact, a breakthrough—the authentic self emerging. In my case, the births of my children were profound gifts, revealing the wounds that needed healing. Now, I am dedicated to guiding women who feel called to heal their own emotional wounds before stepping into motherhood or who are facing an infertility journey that may be a signal to look inward and begin this powerful work.

For all those of us who know what it is like to live with the inner bitch, this book teaches us how to transform her into your inner BFF! It is written in a lovely, gentle, conversational and clear style, that helps to guide you through the ups and downs of getting to know -- and love -- yourself. I found it resonated on so many levels, largely because I feel that it is written from the heart. I really enjoyed working through the exercises, and to be honest, could have done with even more to help me do the clearing work. If you're struggling with the negative voices inside your head, I urge you to pick up this book and let it help you find your way to inner peace.

It’s rare that you read a book and feel like the author is speaking to you on such a personal genuine level. I found so much resonated in this book, especially as a mother trying to balance all that life brings and sometimes not always feeling I am doing this all particularly well. I really felt a sense of encouragement, understanding and kindness emanating from the pages as well as tools to overcome some of what I had been feeling and struggling with. A really easy read yet informative on what felt like a psycho-spiritual level touching both my heart and mind. I already feel the difference!

I'm quite a fan of self-help books and I really enjoyed this one. Cat's passion and enthusiasm shine through, but she's not just about the promise of clarity and fulfilment - she spills the secrets to a happier life and gives you plenty of practical exercises you can get to work on straight away. After reading her book, I was inspired to work with Cat one a one-to-one basis and I have to say she's brilliant.
